Yeah, that will work. Also you can use hand warmer packs BUT you need to stuff them in a sock and put them under the tub on the outside of the tub. That should defuse the heat enough. They do get pretty darn hot. If you only have 1 snake, then you should be fine. Just put the tub under the blankets next to you and your body heat should keep it warm enough.

Bingo, there are lots of options to heat a small amount of water during a power outage - camp stove or propane grill, chafing candles or tea light candles used in catering, etc. Just be careful of anything with an open flame.

Since you only have one ball python you can also put it into a snake bag or pillow case, tie it closed, and put it down the front of your shirt to keep warm. At night put the bag into a bin and put that under your bed covers with you. The bin is to ensure you don't roll onto your snake and for added security in case it escapes from the snake bag.

Definitely put off feeding for a few days.

I would also set my refrigerator and freezer to the lowest possible temperatures, and fill up any empty space inside of them with bottled water. The food inside will take longer to warm up and/or spoil if the power goes out if they're at a lower temperature to begin with, and added thermal mass from the water will also keep the food cold for longer.

Only thing I would add as to measure the heat so that maybe if one sock isn't dissolving the heat enough you could add more layers or what not. Get an infra-red gun from lowes or any hardware store, they are fairly cheap (think mine was 15 dollars) So that way you will know if your plastic on tub is getting hot enough or to hot. Just a thought in case you don't have one yet. Here's to hoping your power stays on!

It seems the best option for me is to put her in her tub and wrap her up in a blanket. Because the power might go out when I'm at work, but I literally live across the street from where I work. So I could just run over, put her in her tub, cover her in a blanket and then put her on my bed. When I get home I could put her in a pillow case and keep her next to me.
