As he gets older will he brighten or darken I'm confused on some of the adults I've seen... But is there a general rule of thumb about their coloring when they become adults?

You're giving your honest opinion, I appreciate that no heart feelings. Thanks for the knowledge all the info I know from the breeder is what I've shared and I've seen the parents or at least the father and he's def a SunGlow. That's still not a bad price considering I got him for $40.

Generally with boas, darker. The greys ('baby greys') along the side will usually fade and then cream background color will turn tan or brown. Yellow is the last pigment to develop in boas and it comes in over the first few years turning them tan/brown.

If you do not know if it is het kahl or sharp it should be priced as if it's just a hypo.

99% of the time, if the strain isn't identified then that means it's kahl aka original strain. Sharps usually go for more and aren't quite as common still. In the past it was always default that if no strain was mentioned, it's kahl. If it's sharp, it's called out aka sharp albino aka sharp sunglow etc
Perhaps it's changed a bit over the years and you are correct, it's always good to be cautious and get actual verifiable information from the seller.

I got him so cheap because he wasn't expecting a litter from his female. Wasn't aware that she was gravid. So he just had a couple backs and sold the rest. Very cheap. Couldn't afford to feed them. That's why he's tiny. But thanks for the descriptive response and yeah defiantly a steal if he was fed properly but hopefully after feeding him every five days for a few months will get him up to weight. He was born May 22nd

Boas are generally very hearty snakes, I'm sure he'll bounce back. But be careful not to go overboard trying to fatten him up – their metabolisms are totally different from pythons'. Just keep him on an appropriate diet and let him attain size naturally and healthfully.

They are masters of efficiency.

I like the look of that snake. I never chime in on morph questions as I'm not interested in them, but I still admire some of the beauty they can display.

$40 is definitely a deal you got there! He is definitely pretty but I think all of them are pretty even the darkest normals.

The one person is right of course usually if they don't mention which one it's kahl but if the information can't be verified it's useless. Sharp seems just as common to me since I see it all the time when looking through classifieds. Plus, if it's someone that doesn't usually breed or is in a rush to get rid of them they might not think to mention which albino gene. Of course if you never plain to breed him or sell him it doesn't matter really!

On the feeding I would just stick to once a week with an appropriate size feeder. He will easily gain weight on that schedule.

You guys have been great DEEPLY appreciate the thought out responses. Also for the kind words of the good looking snake ha I can't wait till he gets to be the same size as my 1 1/2 year old normal female. This is my first morph so it's pretty exciting honestly. Truly happy I ever got into snakes 4 years ago! I'll update you guys as he starts lookin healthier (it's probably hard to see how small he is just via photos) THANKS again.

I just noticed this it depends entirely on the snake. Some hypos darken a lot others gett more red but a lot of them just seem to brown out with age. Hypos have a dark and light phase too.

They aren't great photos but I think the difference came out well enough. The lighting is different between the photos but this is what my male looks like in the dark vs red/light phases.



And a few in his red phase or light phase. I do think he is going to be a dark adult most of the time.

Beautiful snake.......... My normal female does that though goes from dark to light phases. I thought she was going into shed every other minute lol before doing research. As the day goes on she gets brighter. But I notice durning the evening she gets lighter and darker in the morning I heard all red tails do that. But I defiantly see the difference almost like two different snakes. I love when my snake is light instead of dark you can really see the colors
