    Mojave Lesser possible Pastel

To me a Lesser is a little brighter yellow than a Butter.......
    A good Lesser is:

A Butter is a little more of a creamy yellow

    Re: Butter and lesser

I have my male mystic and will still get a BEL with the butter. But using the lesser pastel yellow belly just to breed with my pastel yellow belly just for ivory/pastel ivory seems like a waste of a beautiful male beyond a pet. So trying to figure out what else to do with him. Lots of ideas but at a loss for telling apart other than keeping tight records.
Beautiful little ones by the way pitontheprowl.

    Re: Butter and lesser

I have a butter that I am planning on pairing with my pastave. At least I bought her as a butter, anyway I thought I saw that the lesser x Mojave has a "dirty" head where as the butter x Mojave has a "clean" head. I could be wrong on that though.

Same thing if you breed lesser to butter you still have the same risk of bug eyes which is why I always recommend people to do Lesser or Butter x Mojave if they want a clean white snake with no risk of bug eyes.

    Re: Butter and lesser

    Personal opinion time:

I have been going through the various same-complex snakes for "essentially the same thing" snakes. I'm fairly picky and intend to find my favorites and not touch snakes outside of those genetics, so that I know for certain what the offspring are. For instance, I won't touch Butters or Mojaves or Het Russos, but I would get a Bamboo or Het Daddy, because they are distinct enough to not get mixed up. For things like Black Pastel, I only want an Ian G line black pastel, from someone I am certain isn't messing around on the line. For the Albino Complex, I only really care about Toffees. For the superstripe complex it's the yellowbelly which has my heart. For the BlackEL complex, Fire wins out on price and look, in my book.

Pastel is the only thing I'll really yeild on. They're in everything and my own pastel isn't really a good looker. So I'm fine with just Pastel, and selling/giving them as "pastel" and telling people they are generic/of no line in particular.
    Ball Pythons 1.1 Lesser, Pastel
1.0 Lesser Pastel, 0.0.7 mixed babies

    Re: Butter and lesser

Got the butter last tuesday with letter explaining that he has refused all meals. I have 5 weeks before stressing out and assist feeding. Was given option to return for refund or different snake? What do i do?

    Re: Butter and lesser

I would return it, and after that find a different breeder. IMO any breeder that sells a snake that has not eaten is not a responsible breeder. You should have gotten a call stating that it has refused all meals and it will not be sold until after 4-5 meals. At that point you could wait till it eats or say no thanks and find another snake. Others might differ but, that's what I would do.
