tiny silver "bugs" crawling around cage

Hi, I am so new to the whole snake thing. I have an 8 month old banana ball and I have been noticing tiny silver bugs crawling around his cage. You have to look very closly to even see them. I notice them more when he poops. Is this a parasite or some sort of sickness? What do I do? Please help!! Thank you in advanced!

Sounds like mites to me but pictures would be helpful.

Thank you. I doubt I would even be able to capture them on camera, they are that tiny. I will look into "mites." Thank you

Hm, when you see mites they are usually always little round black dots, I have yet to see one that is silver or hasn't slurped up some blood. If you can get a picture, great, if not I would capture the bugs in a little pill bottle or something and ask a vet what they are. Or maybe if you could get one in a container it would be easier to photograph.

When you take the snake out do you see them crawling around on it, or crawling off onto your hand?

Oh and I can't remember what it is, but there's some kind of insect that people sometimes put in their animal's enclosure and it "cleans up." That was my first thought when I read that you see them more often when he poops.

If the bugs are too small to get pictures of, a shot of your setup might help. Wood mites or springtails would be my first guess with no other information.

What type of substrate is it? I get loads of the lil tiny white bugs in my tortoise enclosures where I use cypress mulch.
