I still can't really believe it. Kept his card and number saved. Hoping he is at the reptile show in Perry next month or Repticon in Atlanta in October. Also this was my first reptile show ever so it was an incredible experience for me.

About 7 or so years ago I saw my first lesser ball python and it amazed me. Ever since then I have been studying them and have become obsessed haha, but then I found the lesser bee and fell in love all over again. Didn't think it could get better until I saw my first queen bee lol.

My whole life I never knew ball pythons even had options. I'd only ever seen normals at pet stores. It wasn't until about 2 months ago that I found out about 'morphs' and just had to dive headfirst into the hobby. I got a normal about 2 weeks ago but my girlfriend wanted her so I gave her to her and picked up these guys at this weekends show. Now I leave the show and find out Banana, Bamboo, and Calico are all dom/co-dom and now I'm itching for more. I am holding off though and making sure I can take great care of these 2 before I add more to the mix.

Calico is the next apple of my eye I think. I love the speckling of spiders and calico combined with anything spider just takes that to the next level. It's as white as it gets short of Blue Eyed Lucy or Pied. Also quick question, since Lesser is in the BEL complex after this first generation if anything comes out with Lesser and got bred back to the male I could get Blue Eyed Lucy's correct? I know I've only seen BEL that were multiple combinations of different snakes in the complex, (IE Mojave x Lesser ect ect) but I figured since it's co-dom it doesn't really matter if its a cross or a super form to get BEL.

Yea you would be able to get a bel from back crossing you offspring containing lesser to the male super pastel lesser. And yea I can't get enough of all of these morphs haha, hopefully going to add some recessives soon because I love genetics and working with genes. Sounds like you know a lot about everything and it is good to see you want to make sure that they are properly cared for before you get more. I'm sure they will be adjusting just fine!

Absolutely. Like any pet (and since I don't ever intend to breed as a business simply because that's too much commitment these are for sure pets and not investments) they rely on us so I think it's my responsibility to give them my 100% effort. Before I can even consider more snakes I need to upgrade my rack anyway. It's 'built' from an adjustable rack system with tubs and underbelly heat and it does pretty good, but it could be better. Living in Georgia makes getting the temps super easy since I just need to worry about the hotspot as the house doesn't drop below 74. Humidity living in Georgia is pretty easy too, but my rack is still something I've made. It's functional, but I'd love to switch to flexwat from the zoomed pads and to a better thermostat. I still temp gun everything because I don't trust those probes and adjust from there. I might save up and invest in a better rack and thermostat come october before I bring in more snakes.

That's great. I still check my temps periodically just to make sure everything is right. I'm still learning everything. Checking 5 times a day might be a bit excessive but I can't help myself lol. I hope I never stop learning new things about BPs though because they're fascinating all around.

If breeding goes well next year, keep an eye out, because some babies are gonna need homes and since this is all for hobby there will be some equally good prices.
