Morph market is a platform, you can't blame them for how the users behave, its like being mad at bp.net because someone said something you didn't like. Don't you think your feelings would be better placed on the particular person?
Actually it depends on what the goal is for the site. Right now the business is still in its infancy, and like any new business the focus will be on cash flow, so it needs as many paying advertisers as possible.
As the site matures, more people use it, more services are added, and it becomes profitable, they could afford to vet vendors and market to buyers that way. Vendors who are permitted on the site could charge premium prices based on that reputation. You're looking at years to get to that point though.

I actually though about doing something like MorphMarket did awhile back. I ran the numbers on it and it just didn't work money/work wise. I do wish them luck though. I make mistakes sometimes, but I have been involved with commerce sites from the beginning of commerce sites. They need to do something special to stand out sooner rather than later.

what cash flow? what paying advertisers?
I also don't see any hint of them suggesting there will be anything to vet. Its a classifieds site, not amazon.
It seems like you are describing an entirely different site.

It is not quite the same thing as putting up a retail gateway.
As far as this board goes, if I ever attempt to sell anything on here or even end up selling something to a member here I will be more than glad to become a paying member in order to show support for the board. This site holds way more value than Morph market. If morph market wants to have value they need to do far more than display a bunch of adds for stuff you can't even buy.
It's a classified site can you tell me what classified site vet their sellers???? Because I cannot think of any.
What are they supposed to do get a the sellers Social Security number and run a full background check?
Ebay does not vet people
Craiglist does not vet people
Amazon does not vet people
Fauna Classifieds does not vet people
Kingsnake.com does not vet people
There are people on those sites getting scammed all the time.
WE do not vet people either, also I can assure you that is someone is caught using this site for scam they will be banned.
Some people idea of a classified site just seems very unrealistic.
Anyone using a classified site should do their homework it's that simple.

Yes I am. One that just maybe could make a couple bucks for the owners whoever they are. When it came out my expectations were high. I said wow, maybe someone actually did it, but they didn't. Still, I wish them the best. My use of the site hasn't worked out so well. I'm retiring in a couple years. Maybe I will put something up to play with. If Morph Market works for people then by all means use the site. Like I said I have been wrong before. There have been three sites that have really been useful to me. This one, yours, and world of ball pythons. If you put all that together combined with a commerce aspect you would actually have something. Free advice from someone in the business for morph market. LOL. This is the internet though, and I may be some idiot talking smack or I may be someone else. I don't think I personally know anyone on here so my advice may be worth something or maybe not. I am not saying negative things about them to downgrade them. I want them to succeed. Other than this site I personally have zero internet exposure when it comes to snakes. I like to separate my work from my fun.

I am VERY aware of Amazon's business model. I will let that go at that. As far as fauna, ebay, craigslist etc... What is the point of building something that has already been done? Just what is needed, another classifieds... If the Morph Market people are on here and want some free advice, help, maybe even a little investment they can PM me, or ignore me. At any rate its been a fun discussion. The board got a little dull today.

GunBroker.com - as a seller I can block bidders or only permit my ads to be seen by buyers with a certain rating. As a buyer I can look at a seller's feedback and overall rating before bidding. As an example, this is mine: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...x?User=1114547

Exactly - the market for a classifieds site with safe vendors is untapped; otherwise there is nothing that differentiates MM from everyone else.

Not sure are long you've been in the reptile industry for but I can tell you that having been on both end (seller and buyer) Morph Market is the best format I have came across so far, friendly for both buyers and sellers. I don't have anything to gain by saying this it's just the conclusion you have to come to when using and searching for animals on multiple sites.
There has also been quite a few classifieds site that came and and went because they brought nothing new were difficult to navigate etc. Morphs Market is specific easy to search, no clutter and you get the results you are looking for.
Ever look for a specific animal on Fauna or kingsnake.com with the search function or even here?

Re: Morph market.....
So I just made a purchase via morph market from a breeder and will say everything went very smooth for me. Prior to my purchase, I did have contact with other breeders and they all responded quickly. Not sure why some folks are not pleased but maybe I got lucky.
I will say. I treated morph market like a filter for breeders. I do realize there may be some bad ones and overpriced ones out there. But I just spoke with them and they responded. I had some experience with folks in Fauna classifieds and they actually seemed a bit more shady vs the ones I spoke too at morph.
Just sharing my recent experience.
