    Just wanted to post a quick correction here. Ball Pythons are NOT colubrids, While all snakes are in the Order Squamata, there are several different families of snakes, the colubridae and the pythonidae being two of them. All pythons (including ball pythons) are in the family Pythonidae, NOT in the family Colubridae.

    Also, I believe that all pythons have TWO functioning lungs rather then the one functioning lung that is common in colubrids.
