How do you tell...?
Completely random question here, but I was kind of curious as to how can you tell when a pet snake has died? I understand they have no eyelids, but would their eyes "cloud up," similar to a fish? I was just pondering this earlier and I'd figure I'd let people with experience explain this to me

Given enough time, yes, the eyes may cloud a little. However, the fact that they've stopped moving would be a very good indication that they are no longer of this world.

I'll never forget when i was a kid, like 7 or 8, coming home from school to find my BP's dead. One died, the pet store gave us another b/c vet confirmed it had been sick all along, then the second one dies too. They were both belly up, mouth agape; i was horrified, i waited more than 25 years to get another snake.
this was in the mid 80's; they were all wild caught, sick, and covered with ticks at this nasty little pet store, and husbandry knowledge was practically nonexistent (remember, kids, the internet is still pretty new)

I used to wonder if my Ball, Elvira had died. Then I would concentrate about 1/4 - 1/3 down from the head and look for slow breathing. Still alive!
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Off topic alert. I was wondering the other day why I never did this level of research when I was younger. Then I remembered that back then it was a trip to the library for anything that couldn't be found in the encyclopedia!! LoL Even with the internet, things were hard to find before Google!!

I noticed that my BRB had stretched out across her tank, which was kinda unusual. The next day it appeared she hadn't moved from that spot and her spine was more pronounced than usual. She had just eaten 3-5 days earlier, wasn't emaciated or anything. It was very odd.
