    Re: UTH on PVC cage?

I have uths on all my pvc enclosures and they work great. I'm going to upgrade to rhps for my carpets, just to boost their ambient temps, but the terrestrial snakes do great with uths.

LLL has reptile basics rhp for a decent price. I really like the heat they put out.

An RHP might be something I consider in the future, perhaps when the winter comes around and it's cold in my room I'll invest in it if it helps ambient temps.

Don't forget it will need its own thermostat if you have to save up for the purchase.

    Re: UTH on PVC cage?

I was just thinking about that, actually. I've also got to think about QT and what I'm going to regulate him with while he's away in another room. I'm thinking of using a dimmer switch just for his temporary QT then he'll be up in my room with my girl and I can use my current 'stat. I'm moving in with my mother at the end of June, I may be able to get away with ambient temps for him, but it will likely be cooler where I put him.

Both work well The thermostat might just have to be turned up a little bit to get the heat through the thicker plastic
