Pits are pretty hardy animals T. The husbandry doesn't get much easier. I've thought about providing ambient heat only for them in the summer, which many people do, but I still keep a hot spot of 84-86 just in case they want to warm up. I'd say my bulls spend 90% of their time on the cool side anyway. As far as their feeding habits go, you are spot on. They have no manners. It's all smash and thrash. It's gotten to the point where I have to take out their water bowls before I feed them because they trash their enclosures and start knocking everything over. Then I have to wait for the next hour for them to calm down before I can sneak the water bowls back in. I love it. I got this idea from K Brothers Pythons for feeding my big female.
