    New Member Posting my babies

I am a new member on this site so I thought I would introduce my family.

First is Annabelle. I got her in May and she is almost 1 year old (2015 baby). She is a butter pinstripe born from a pinstripe and a butter bee. She is pretty shy and nervous but a very sweet little girl.

The second is Butters. He is a Butter Ghost from unknown parents. He was a breeder and the resident snake at a petstore in Lawrence KS and he was a survivor of a fire that killed most of their herps. He is about 4 years old and he is proven so I may (probably will) breed him when i get set up. He is an easy snake to handle and he will cruise all night if he can.

This is Sylvia. She is a Nicaraguan Dwarf Boa and she is a little trouble maker. I rescued her from a bad owner. I have no idea how old she is but I assume less than 3 years. She is very shy, rarely coming out of her hides (that I can see) and she is extremely defensive. She will try and bite anything that comes near and obscuring the vision doesn't help. I am trying to work with her a little more but I'm probably going to get some gloves first because she hits like a truck.

Welcome to the forum Soord. Nice looking snakes you have there. Hopefully you will be able to build trust with your Boa and smooth her out.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Yeah same. I wish she was more of a runner than a fighter. When I got her she was in a tree Python cage with one hide that was too small for her and the substrate was black with defecation and no heat and there was some moss that was also black and fruit flies lived in and around her cage. I ended up buying her a brand new muuch bigger cage and ended up doing a super deep clean of that cage and I'm thinking about getting a chameleon with it. She was also dirty and seemed underfed so I bathed her a little bit and got her to eat frozen. We've come a long way but still have a while to go.

It's ironic because half my family calls me 'butta' because I use it all the time. It's only fitting that I have a bunch of butter snakes haha

Well you and Sylvia are definitely off to a good start. Good for you on that rescue. With a little time and work I bet she will turn around for you.

Oh yeah that is actually the final selling point for Annabelle (I am banned by the gf from taking more than 6$ to reptile conventions because I will buy snakes, so I have to convince her of it too). She and butters have a pretty good possibility of making those BELs and that het ghost is not too shabby. Gonna go down that path when she is a little closer to breeding size, though
