Slugs and a boob?
Hello everyone! I am relatively new to breeding ball pythons and I have been having whole clutches of slugs. I have no idea what in the world is going on, but I can tell you I am beyond frustrated! I have had my snakes for 2 years, and in those 2 years, I have had only 2 clutches (different snakes, bought from the same person). The first clutch was a year ago from a Spider x Lemon Blast, all slugs. Last night I FINALLY had my first clutch of the season from a Pastel x Mojave, and it appears to be all slugs and a boob. I have witnessed at least 15 locks (I am sure many more not seen) with the two snakes, so they appear to be getting busy. I am so discouraged, can anyone let me know what I am doing wrong? Thank you!

Slugs happen weather it's a few eggs or an entire clutch, it can be the male, the female, temperture.
Give your female next season off and try again the following season.
If that make you feel better I have had females slugging out and laying perfect 10/11 egg clutches afterward.
Now if you are already discouraged after 2 clutches only, you might want to reconsider breeding a lot of things can happen and because you put 2 snakes together does not guarantee that you will get the results you hope for. Breeding means you will deal with slugs, female not taking, bad odds, deformed hatchlings, failure to thrive etc, it might not be common or happen every season but it does happen, it's all part of breeding.

Re: Slugs and a boob?
Last time I saw someone getting all slug clutches, we learned they had their hotspot at 94 = too hot.

Re: Slugs and a boob?
Just for the edification of all those who might read this slugs are typically thought to be the result of the female ovulating to early. Where as infertility in eggs is a result of either not getting bred at the right time or the male being to hot or to cold and giving the female bad genetic material.
Boob eggs are where the egg didn't fully develop for ovum to calcified egg.

I've heard quite a few people say that boob eggs frequently hatch out just fine, despite the eggshell being deformed.

I've never had an issue with boob eggs hatching. In fact I've had eggs that are 1/2 boob and the babies came out just fine
