Step one: Put frozen rat in tupperware or literally anything
Step two: Turn on hot faucet water and fill said tupperware
Step three: Wait until rat is thawed
Step four: Drain water, pat rat dry with paper towel and feed to snake
Pretty easy right? Dont overthink this. No need for hairdryers and other antics. Thaw the rat thoroughly and feed it to the snake.
Snakes have highly evolved physiologic prey detection methods over millions of years. All you need to do is get the feeder rat thawed and warm, and basically get out of the way and let nature do the rest. No matter how good your 'zombie dance' is with the rat it will never come close to recreating subtle prey movements that snakes evolved to pick up on.
