Yep exactly. Captive hatched could also just mean they brought in a gravid WC female who laid eggs while they had her.

I'm looking to get a pair of the southern white lips that Dan Mulleary imports if he gets any more of them. He gets really nice WC stuff and really know his sources (he actually goes to the farms there and hand picks things). For anyone that hasn't seen his videos those pythons are INSANE. For some reason the ones that he imports from that specific locality are extremely tame and while shy, they never bite. I would love to get a pair of those as they are super easy to work with and look awesome. First white-lips I've seen that are not even the slightest bit defensive, not even in the cage.

That sounds awesome! My friend (who sold me my northern) has some docile southerns as well. Most of her northerns are just little devils. I'm kinda glad about the one I bought though; I wanted the experience of taming down a nippy, defensive snake. That's why I bought my jungle when I did, but then he came to me mostly just fine, if a little skittish. He only bit me once and it didn't break skin; he was almost a yearling at the time. I figure he was just too old to give me what I was looking for. :p

Of those I strongly strongly suggest carpet. They can be nippy and they're active. They usually tame down though and get to be very cool/rewarding pets.
White lips are usually nasty. You do get your docile one now and then but I'd advise you work with a nippier species like a carpet, then try something that needs high humidity like a rainbow boa, then find something with a bit more of a temper, and then get your white lipped. You don't go BP to WLP and expect a good result haha. You can get lucky of course but that is far from the norm. That baby I posted bit me 20+ times in the maybe half hour or so I held her that night.

Edit: Also, my carpet is just frickin rad, and they tend to be. More exciting than a BP but manageable. The only thing is to know what you are buying. Coastals can get really big. If you plan on breeding you definitely need lineage info etc. Tons of intergrades and hybrids out there, which are just as awesome, but people will chew you out if you ever ask what type of carpet you have.

Prahanien you have rough scaled pythons?! I just saw that in your signature thats awesome. You have to do a post with pics on those they're super rare!

I would second the carpet if you've never had anything other than a ball python . I love my JCP even though he is nippy in the tub. Its good to learn how to deal with that before getting a snake that will potentially stay aggressive into adulthood.

I will as soon as they're ready to come home to me! They actually haven't hatched yet, but I will be getting a pair from a friend. I'll post a progression thread, I think, once they hatch. Or I can even start with the eggs, hell, LOL. I definitely will be making a progression thread for them though as they are very rare and I hope to do educational work with them (they're so docile and people will love to feel the scales). I want more people to know about them!!

Also, the seller backed out of selling me this WLP. Ouch, sadness. :/ Waiting on refund. I'll just get another in the future though, no biggie.
