    My Newest Addition

    I know what you mean!

My JCP is my only small snake/Juvie. It was quite an adjustment since my others are big and you have hold them somewhat firmly. I had to immediately learn to be extra gentle with Esmarelda. She increased in size by 60-70% in the last 6 months.

Ziggy's Carpets have grown tremendously in a short period as well.

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

    Re: My Newest Addition

Here's my latest pic. So hard to get one of her with my BlackBerry. I had one of the wall, my leg and the other side of the room before she settled for a minute on my hand.

    Re: My Newest Addition

Thanks, guys, she is such a sweety. A bit defensive in her tub but never really hit me - all talk... but that's fine. I had some good light when I had her out and thought I should grab a pic with my phone. I had her on my arm, had to put my password in the phone and try to hold onto her. It was like wrestling with a livewire. She was everywhere and the first three pictures showed it! I thought it was great that the one pic that showed a snake had her tongue in it. I'm going to attempt to feed her today. Hopefully that goes well. My ball didn't eat again so my boa got fed (the rat barely makes it into his enclosure as Turbo snaps it up midair!).

Good luck with the first feeding BWB. Just make sure your prey item is warm enough and try feeding after dark. I doubt your carpet will miss many meals.

    Re: My Newest Addition

Thanks for the info. I was planning on feeding her tonight, after dark. She should be hungry. Should I feed her every 7 days or so until she matures?

I feed my young carpets somewhat liberally B. If she's 54g at 7 months I'd feed her every 5 days for a while. Once she gets some size on her I'd dial it back to every 7 days. My jungle was hatched on 7/30/15 and was 31g when he arrived on 9/22/15. He most recently weighed 376g on 4/11/16. He eats every 5-7 days. I feed the carpets roughly 15-20% of their body weight per feeding.

    Re: My Newest Addition

She ate last night but I had to leave the pinkie in her enclosure (she's still a bit shy of being disturbed) and I checked about an hour later. She was out, roaming around and the meal was gone. I suspect that she will be more receptive to the pinkie doing the dance for her next feeding.
