    He is here

"Corny" is here. I cant believe how small he is, 15g. Fishing worms are larger. lol

so, the smallest f/t pinkies I see online are listed as extra small, 1.5 - 1.9 grams each. He can eat these? And how many do you think he will consume before needing to move up to a larger mouse? Feed how often?

I'm looking forward to watching this guy grow.

    Thanks, Dean

Corny is a looker, congrats. Yes, he can take a mouse pinky - no problem. Most frozen rodent suppliers sell pinky mice in bags of 50 or 100 so you shouldn't need more than 1 bag if he's the only snake you're feeding. Depending on the size of prey/snake, once a week is a fine feeding schedule for most growing colubrids. Near the end, as you finish whittling down that bag, you simply offer more per feeding to make up for his growth. When the bag is nearly depleted, reassess his size and order something more appropriate.

Very nice corn. I like those colors. I wouldn't buy many pinkys at all. I think my hatchling colubrids were on pinkys for 6-8 feedings max before they moved to mice fuzzys. The mice fuzzys are only about 4-6g. I typically feed them 10-15% of their body weight (sometimes a little more) per feeding. I feed hatchlings every 5-6 days. In your case I'd offer one pinky for 3-4 feedings, then 2 pinks for 2-3 feedings, after that I'd move up to fuzzys. Pinkys don't have as much nutrition as more mature prey so I try to get my snakes off of them pretty quickly.

Thanks. I just ordered 25 pinkies from Feeder Source.
