Re: Getting a new blood Python
Not sure. She told me (blood Python). Lol. I tried asking tons of questions. But all she could remember is she bought at Columbus Ohio reptile show.
But I got her because she seems very friendly.. At the most. Mainly hisses. But once picked up. She's fine.

Give it some time alone first. 7-10 days is the norm. After that I would start slow like every 3 days or every other day working over those days toward longer handling sessions.
Doing to much to soon can make them stressed and add to their nippy attitude.

Okay. Yeah. That's what I mean. After a week or so.

Actually, I would limit handling to the minimum needed for cage maintenance until your new little blood is well settled in and feeding regularly. They can get easily stressed and go off food if they feel threatened. Some don't mind as much, but a baby isn't going to get "meaner" if you don't handle for a while. Also, if you have other snakes and this one's in quarantine, that's always another good reason to not handle at first.
Good luck with her.!
I meant to add, yes, that's a normal red blood.

Very nice looking snake! ... But something about that photo, the way the snake is laying, makes it look... very... not alive. :s
