    Re: Any hockey fans here?

Well, being a chicago fan and seeing Kane play, I feel he is deserving, but let's be honest here. With all the crap over the summer I actually hope he doesn't get it. He is a great player that needs to grow up a bit. Now who really knows what happened, I don't presume him innocent or guilty, but he did get himself in that situation, which in my mind is a strike against him. I am sure he is feeling it $$$ wise but who knows how that will affect him in the long run. Thought it was funny he got booed at the all start game. He really messed up his image.

The Eichel and McDavid thing remind me very much of Crosby's early days. You would have thought there was no other player on the planet but Crosby by the media. That's what I always have liked about Datsyuk. He just went about his business, quietly undressing defenseman every chance he could, and it took the NHL about 8 years to recognize he was one of the best two way players to ever play the game. He's not a pretty face nor does he speak English well, so he was left alone. That didn't stop him from having a "Cat that ate the Canary" smile on his face that told you he knew more than he let on. The NHL have their faces they wish to promote, but the true hockey fan will recognize the real talent and class players all on their own, without any help from Bettman's media or his agenda.

I can't speak of Kane's guilt or innocence but I will say this. Trouble seems to follows this kid around. From being the most visibly drunken player on the first CHI SC parade, to beating up a Buffalo cabby for change, to this latest incident, his antics are pretty well documented. He is a highly skilled player of that there is no doubt. Just like Jimi Hendrix was a talented guitarist, Phillip Seymour Hoffman was a talented actor, and OJ Simpson was a talented football player.

Sometimes you can take the kid out of the situation but you if you can't take the situation out of the kid, who knows how it will come out?
