The only complaint I have for my VE-100's is if I set them even a degree under 80F, they constantly sit there making clicking noises, and it's so annoying. Both of them do it, and have done this since I got them brand new. I've had them 2-2.5 years without any failures, so I'm happy with them.

I use the VE-200 and VE-300 and they work great. I passed on the 100, seemed like an economy model and I didn't want to use it.

Any off/on does that. You are hearing the relay close.

What were you using for heat? I have never been able to get Flex a Watt or THG that hot. WoW

It was a cserpents v18 rack. I believe it was flex watt, but I'm not 100 percent sure.

Hm I'll have to think then about this, I am also debating if I want to go tub route as well, I like a display tank since I only have the one ball, might be better doing the T8 route with herpstat...

Personally I would just get a Herpstat 1 or Herpstat 2 over a VE. I like the extras you get with Herpstats plus even the old ones can be sent in for firmware upgrades to "update" them with the new features. I am biased though as I use both a Herpstat 1 and 2 and am thinking of one of those Herpstat 6 come fall/winter time There is nothing wrong with VEs though as they have been around awhile too and if there was something glaringly wrong with them, the community would already be all over it.

We ONLY use Herpstats for our collection.

I had my ve-200 failed in the on position as well. It was connected to my incubator and I lost three awesome clutches. I use a ve-300 x 2 for my racks and have never had a problem.
