I bought my ball around July or August when she was about a month old from a local pet shop that specializes in reptiles. She's been on a steady weekly diet of rat pinkies until a few days ago when I fed her her first fuzzy. I left her alone to digest, and this morning I noticed her skin was a bit wrinkly, and she wasn't moving much. Something didn't seem right to me, so I brought her up to the pet store, and their reptile specialist said she was just full, and that since she wasn't used to eating fuzzies that she may also be a bit blocked up. He took her in the back and soaked her off and on for about 15 minutes at a time. Between soakings, he would wrap his pointer finger and thumb around her and pull down, attempting to pull some leftover crap from inside her. On his last attempt, a pinkish-clear, mucusy bubble came out. He touched it, and it appeared to be firm. It was dripping a bit as well. I asked if that was her insides, and he said no, and that he hadn't seen anything like that before. He then tried to figure out what it was by doing a quick search on the internet, but came up with nothing. He recommended going back to pinkies, upping the heat and humidity, and to let her soak in warm water once a day for 30 or more minutes, that heat would help her digest much faster. I brought her home, and withing the hour, it retracted and things looked back to normal. I went ahead and disinfected her cage, gave her fresh water, and new bedding. I also rearranged her rock, water bowl, and shade log to help her move around a little better. My question is, has anyone ever seen anything like that come from a young ball python before? I've seen pictures of prolapses before, and it doesn't appear like one based on the pictures I saw, but could it have been one? It basically looked like a pink snot bubble. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
