How often does your BP wander?
My little dude stays in his tree trunk the whole day and I never see him come out once. I try to stay up late at night to see him come out, but I figure he won't until all the lights are off. I might change his tree trunk out because once he's in there, there's no way for me to get him out. I know they hide a lot, but is it normal for him to stay in one place the whole day? Pretty much all he does is rearrange his spot in there.

I would get rid of the trunk if there is no way for you to get him out if he is in there. You want to have access to him at a moments notice. Also if he can get in and you cant get to him what if he gets stuck? Bps love to squeeze into small spaces and i have heard stories of them getting stuck in hides such as the one you are describing. Also i have some that like to roam a bit in their tubs as I dont have hides and i have some that like to stay in the same corner and never move.

Yeah, those are good points. I was thinking about switching it out for another rock hide I have. I'll definitely do that the next chance I get. Plus it's only gonna become more of an issue as he grows.

Granted I've only had mine a week so he's brand new to his home and only a few months old, but I have a Nest camera set up on his tank that starts recording when there's motion and so far he's come out every night to wander around a bit. Usually sometime between midnight and 3am he'll wander around his tank for 10-30 minutes. The camera is awesome though. It sends alerts to my phone when there's motion and records the movement so i can go back the next day and watch him when I'm actually awake.
Anyway, after he's settled in for a couple months he may never leave his hide.

Sorry...I just realized from your other posts that yours too is a young'n. I'm willing to bet he comes out when you're not looking. You should look into a baby camera or security camera, it's a lot of fun. And there's ones a lot cheaper than the Nest.

I lured him out of the tree trunk with a frozen thawed mice. Is it bad to do that and then not feed him? I just wanted to change the hide, which I did. And he also ate about 4-5 days ago. His feeding day is Thursday. I've only fed him once, and he ate it the first time he was offered.

lol from a human standpoint it might seem a bit mean but I suspect from your little buddies standpoint he missed his prey lol...he will be fine. I think it was better to get him out of that hide than anything so I wouldn't worry.

Re: How often does your BP wander?
Mine is in his hide nearly all day. Very rarely I'll see him come out and get a drink or switch hides during the day, but it's not likely that I'll see him while the sun is up. Then, every night between 10pm and 2am he comes out of one his hides (usually the cool one) then wanders around for an hour or so. Usually he curls up on top of his warm hide or in it until around 6am. He will stick his head out every now and then when I come home and he almost always comes out when I change his water, other than that - he's invisible and in a hide.

Re: How often does your BP wander?
Both of mind are different. My baby girl pretty much hides all day, and comes out once the sun goes down for a little while, maybe sticking her head out to check out what's going on during the day. My adult male, on the other hand comes out after every misting to sit atop his hide, and sticks his head out every time I am active in my room. He also is active at night starting about the same time as the baby.

Re: How often does your BP wander?
Mine usually wanders about quite often. He's usually climbing through all the plants and sitting up on top of them, but if he's not roaming then he's in his rock and he sticks his head out when my husband and I are in the room. Except for this week since he's been shedding.. I pick up the rock and check on it once or twice a day to make sure he's okay because he doesn't come out at all. If he's been a bit absent during non shed times, I turn off all the lights and sit down with a book on my phone and wait and he usually comes out. You're probably just missing him~
