Re: EMERGENCY! Eye issue, Please Help!
That's the hydrometer

A vet told me to give her a bath and guess what.. Her eye is fine again!
Now the husbandry issue..
Spraying to raise the humidity then ?
Thanks all for your help
Never freaked out so much

Re: EMERGENCY! Eye issue, Please Help!
A digital one *might* be more accurate. There is an old article somewhere on the net about how far off most hygrometers can be.
I recently posted about four of mine - all in the same area of the room, and with readings all over the place! Since the readings don't any sense, I've stopped checking them.
You might want to keep a humid hide in the enclosure. I haven't made one, but they are usually described as a suitably sized tupperware type container, with an entry hole cut in the lid, and stuffed with damp spagnum moss. I use plants, and living moss, but my guys are small, so they can dig down into the pots. That might not work as well for a grown BP. A wrung out towel in the enclosure can help in a quick pinch, as well as a plastic covered wrung out towel over the screen, if you have a tank.

That's dimpling caused by dehydration. Make sure she's got fresh water in her bowl and maybe drop in a humid hide for her. How are you measuring humidity? Those little dial ones are horrible. It's easy to forget that with the heaters running more during the cold weather the humidity will get sucked right out of the air.
I would suggest covering a screen cover for a glass tank with aluminum foil before placing a wet towel over it. For one - eww...who wants a wet towel over their stuff? For two - where do bacteria like to hang out? Warm, damp places. Like that towel. Aluminum foil over 2/3 of the screen works just as well imo. Bonus humidity for having your water bowl under it on the warm side.

Could i put sphagnum moss in her favorite hide then ? (the one in the middle)
She spend most of her time in there
because i think there's not really enough space to add another hide.. plus a sort of tupperware in her tank would look horrible (yes, i like it when it looks nice too )
And i'll go buy a digital hydrometer asap then!

Yeah the analog gauges you have there are plain junk.
You soaking her will rehydrate her but still not good or recommended.

Re: EMERGENCY! Eye issue, Please Help!
I'd put damp moss in ALL her hides.
The bedding looks like coconut husk. To raise the humidity I dampen the top of the husk and then mix it all around the enclosure. Repeat the process if it's still too dry. That should bump up the humidity quite a bit.
With the digital thermometer/hygrometer you'll know your actual humidity.

Cork absorbs moisture (at least, the ones in my wine bottles seem to a bit...) so I would replace it with something like plexiglass.
The humidity is a lot lower than what that guage is reporting if your snake is dehydrated. I would add a second water bowl on the warm side.

Ok.
So shopping list: New hydrometer/Thermometer & Sphagnum moss
I'll try with those asap and then see if the husbandry gets better
Thanks a lot for your help and advice!
