I Totally understand your story and feelings.
The woods is like my church and renews my soul. While I did hunt for 40 years, the desire has waned as I got older. I realize that is just me. I never judge my friends that still do. Hunting is very necessary for the ecology and to reduce hunger and diseases to name a few reasons.
That is such an honor that you are able to hunt with the tools that you mentioned.
