Re: Breaking News - He Pooped!

No problem! Mites are awful little critters, in always happy to help someone get rid of them.

I actually fed him tonight. Its a day early. I actually need to weigh him, not done that yet. Anyhoos, he was very obviously hunting tonight, even after 3 weeks with me I can understand when he wants food. So I thawed a mouse, offered it to him and within 2 seconds he was wrapped around it

    One happy Monty!!!

Good to hear he's eating for you! Jynx refused to eat until all of his mites were gone, but he is also a picky boy who gets mad when I even try to change his bedding from coconut fiber to something else. It is really cool when you start picking up on their personalities and can just kind of tell what they need.

Yes exactly, it is cool. He was roaming around the cage , sitting by the glass doors a lot and generally just roaming around as soon as I had turned the lights off.

Every feeding day morning when I wake up Jynx has half of his body out of his hide, wrapped around and is just staring at me (his tank is on the dresser right next to the bed). It's just like "yes, yes, I know it's feeding day, don't worry." lol

It is funny. I'm amazed at just after 3 weeks I can tell what Monty wants, or does not like, or is not comfortable. I can wait to get the substrate back in as I know he will feel a lot better.

Re: Breaking News - He Pooped!

I was amazed when I first started working with snakes then brought Jynx home how easy it is to tell when the want something or don't like something. It just makes me laugh now when people who don't own reptiles tell me there is no way to tell

BPs are always happiest when hiding, indeed.

Glad to hear the mites are going away. Him not sitting in the water bowl is deff a sign of that. I would agree with waiting out the month before switching back to your regular substrate.
