Considering the ball python morph game started right around 92/93 with the albinos that were selling for bout $15K/pair, when any manner of them was for sale for YEARS before that for $10-20, and it's now 2015 and we're still here talking about them, ogling them and they still sell often and easily. I'd say the market will still be here in 5 years, and 10 years, and probably 20 years. What prices will be, no one could ever predict. Just look at Banana/Coral Glows. Two years ago they were the best new thing and cost thousands. Now you can literally get them for about the same price as any other desirable single gene snake. That's simply because the supply exploded from a lot of people trying to make a quick buck on the latest and greatest and flooding the market.
If you're just now considering getting into breeding. First, make for damn sure you're not doing it just to make money. That will not happen soon, if ever. Second, pick out what you like the most. I like axanthics. I've found I like the TSK line for color the best. So that's where I'm starting. I like spinners, I like Fireflies, I like zebra bees, so I'm going to work on making those. We'll see where I wander from there. If you really love the morph, and it's combinations and learn it inside and out, then people will like talking to you about it, they'll like looking at your snakes because you're excited about them, and if they decide to buy, they'll remember that.
