Those hides have only one entry to minimize light entry. BPs not only like dark spaces, but semi-snug ones as well. Hence, you NEED to buy a hide that JUst fits, and WILL be out grown. They are more secure in the right hide also.
Please don't skimp on the hides to save money. If that is an issue, you can always make your own from plastic boxes to flower pots.
