Partial collection tour / How does my collection look?

I decided to post some pictures of snakes in my collection and give everyone a look at what's in the rack. Not a full collection tour, but I hope you still have fun with it. I've also been wondering about whether the snakes in my collection are quality examples. I'd love to know whether I'm choosing nice looking animals or if I need to up my game a little. Feel free to critique these guys and be 100% honest (please give me reasons if you can as to why one of my animals is quality or not, I'm trying to develop a better eye for it)!

Enchi Lesser Spider (might be pastel)
    500-600 grams
    Male

    Enchi Lesser Pastel
    900-1,000 grams
    Female

    SuperFly
    1,000-1,200 grams
    Male

    Mahogany
    450-550 grams
    Female

    Sherbert Fly
    500-700 grams
    Female

    Cinnamon Fire
    450-550 grams
    Female

I'm out of town right now and unfortunately don't have decent pictures of everyone, so I can't show you everything. Hope you enjoyed anyway!

I'd say you are making some fantastic choices. Those are some beautiful snakes.

I would agree! They're all bright, beautiful, healthy looking snakes.

It also seems like you're sticking with a few core morphs (variations of firefly and other snakes with fire for example), while throwing in a few other genes (cinnamon, lesser, enchi) to mix things up. In my opinion that's a good selection.

Thank you both for the compliments! I've been trying to buy only the best in my budget, so it's good to know that I'm doing things well.

Yeah, I've been trying to get a lot of firefly variations in the collection. I think fire is essential for making nice pastel combos and I love super fires, so it's a priority for me to have fire in a lot of my snakes. I also love GHIs, so I recently bought a male that I'll be receiving once I get home. I like a little variety, but I want to have a running theme to stick with. I can't wait for my first breeding season. Maybe it'll be next year if the snakes keep eating like this.

So far so good !! Do you plan on making creams with those fire combos? If so, I suggest picking up some super vanilla stuff ! If you like fire as an enhancer, I recommend enchi, hgw, and some of the favorite recessives like clowns and pieds (if you're into those morphs).

    What are you plans??

    Thank you!

Mmm, I'm not really a huge cream fan. I mean, I don't hate them, but I'd rather make something else. If I came across an inexpensive vanilla, I wouldn't complain, but it's not something I'm actively trying to make. I have two enchis already, so I think I'm ok there for a little while. My dad started a small collection of ball pythons when I got started, and he has a super pastel hidden gene woma that I'm allowed to use for breeding because I take care of her. I like the combos, so I'm excited for her to get to size (I'm thinking soul suckers). I like clowns, but I absolutely adore pieds. I want one so badly. I haven't picked one up yet, but I plan on it! I'm just waiting for the right deal to come along. I like dragonfly pieds and GHI pieds the best, but an albino pied isn't exactly bad either.

Well, I want to eventually put my cinnamon fire female to my GHI het red axanthic male to try for gargoyle GHIs. I'm thinking about breeding the sherbert fly female with the superfly male to try for super pastel super fires (any pinstripe is a bonus). I'm either going to put my enchi lesser pastel to my enchi lesser spider or my GHI for her first year. It just depends. I love BELs and super enchis would be nice, but lesser GHIs are nothing to sneeze at. My mahogany female will probably go with my GHI as I'm not a huge fan of amber pastels. As for some of the snakes that aren't pictured, I'd like to pair my bumblebee het red axanthic or my killer spinner with my superfly for a shot at fire bumblebee combos. My super pastel pinstripe female would probably go with my enchi lesser pastel to try for emperor pins, queen spins, that sort of thing. I might try pairing more than one male to some of my girls to see what happens there.

My plans for my first season consist of successfully hatching babies for the most part. I'd like a little experience before I move into anything bigger. If I manage to get babies, though, I have some ideas. I want to holdback a GHI combo (fire GHI = perfect, but I doubt that would happen in the first season, a lesser GHI would be nice too) female if I get one and make super GHI combos later on. I want to holdback a super fire (preferably with lots of spots) if I get one to put with some enchi, spider and pastel combos. If I paired the enchi lesser pastel with the lesser spider enchi male, I would holdback a BEL or super enchi female. If my killer spinner is up to weight by next year, I would hold back a fire bumblebee or fire killerbee from that clutch. I love enchi spinner blasts, so I want to produce one of those at some point, preferably with fire added to it.

I want to eventually add orange dream to the collection. I feel like it would go well with my fires and I have nothing against dream bees. Piebald is of course something I'm after. I also like leopard (especially when mixed with lesser or mojave) and spotnose. I don't think I could go wrong adding calico or sugar, either. I really like what they do with spider. It really just depends on what kind of deals I can get on quality animals.

How do those plans sound? Any ideas on how to improve them? I'd love to hear your input on them.

Those top two are especially stunning. I love seeing the Superfly with some weight on him. I wondered how they would age out. Feel free to post more once you get home. If all of your pics are this gorgeous it would be a lovely slideshow to see

Thank you! I'll definitely be taking more pictures when I'm home. It's going to be about ten days until I get back, though.

The superfly male is very nice looking in person. There are no brown spots on him, just cream and grey. Probably one of the two nicest pastels in the collection (the other being the sherbert fly). He's also one of the friendliest and most active snakes I own, not to mention he would eat the feeding tongs if I let him. He ate live all his life before I got him and he hasn't complained about eating frozen thawed once.

Mahogany is one of my favorite dark morphs. Very underrated in my opinion. Everyone should have one. I mean, the super form is amazing, it looks great with black pastel and leopard, it does cool things with mojave... the list goes on and on.

Hey as long as you have a plan - that's a big plus!

I wrote all my desired pairings on a whiteboard... LOL.

I do want to suggest NOT making BELs that possibly have other genes. Imagine you produce 4 of them, and you want to only keep a pair or whatever, it's going to feel rough trying to sell one as a 2-gene instead of a 3 or 4 gene it COULD be .

I thought I wouldn't really care either, but now it's rough advertising these potentially worlds firsts combos for less than what they could potentially be lol. Just food for thought. I came at it with the same exact mentality. You could look through my older threads regarding my plans haha, it's always in the following order:
    1 - I want babies!
    2 - I want cool combos
