I love mine, you get the attitude/personality of a big snake in a really compact package, and if you provide them with a large cage they will be very active; and IMO make a nice display animal. Mine is constantly on the move, perches up on his branches and every time I put fresh water in his bowl he goes straight for it. I put a branch right over his water bowl so he will climb up and then drop his head down towards it.
I have noticed with mine that it is very very fast. This thing can slither off my hand and do a lap around its tub before I can put the lid on.

Yes, mine is took there are times when he is content just coiling around my wrist and sitting and others where he is wrapped in between each finger, going from hand to hand, up my arm going right up to my face. He can also turn around and be off the hook really fast as well.

Thanks for the advice, I had some scrap wood, so I have already started construction on a smaller display cage. It's about 24x12x18.

Cool, that should hold you over for a while, but once he starts to get some size on him you may want to step it up. Mine is currently in a 36inx18inx16in and at some point will most likely be stepped up to a 4x2x2.

Yeah I agree. I saved my plans for the boa cage I built, and I made them to stack 4 tall.
The spotted will have a spot for sure when it gets that size. But I figured if it's for sure 14 months old, and still that small, then they must have slow growth rates.

ya my childreni grew really slow then all the sudden shot up, but he is almost 2 at this point and just now hit 3ft. I started off with him as a hatchling in a little plastic "kritter keeper" because he was soo small he could squeeze out of everything else, then did a 10 gallon, I had an empty vision cage for him, but his girth was still so tiny that he could squeeze between the glass doors so his 3ft cage is still a glass tank with a screen lid, which kills me I hate using tanks, but I didn't have anything else that he couldn't escape from haha. When he goes in his bigger cage it will be a hinged door so he can't get out.
