What kind of setup does a baby corn snake require?

I might be getting a baby Motley corn snake but before I do I need to get some advice for substrate, temperature, and setup. I have two Redtail boas and a BP and I use ecoearth as their substrate. I also have them at a moderately high humidity. They are in PVC Boamaster enclosures that don't require a light because of the thermostat system they have plus a UTH. I don't know much about Colubrids and really need advice as to how they differ from my Redtail boas and BP. Thank you. ️

Corns are super easy! I keep mine in sterilite tubs, with aspen bedding, hides, and water bowl. I keep mine in my reptile area, which stays around 77-80 degrees, so I don't provide any heat.

I keep babies in 6qt or 15qt tub, adults in a 28 or 32 quart tub.

I would use something like shredded aspen, as corns (and colubrids in general), use the bathroom much much more frequently than your boas or ball pythons. I like the shredded aspen because after the poop dries it is easy to just grab it out when spot cleaning.

These guys also feed much more frequently than your boas/balls. I follow something called the Munson Plan, and use that as a guideline as to how much and what to feed corns.

How old is your little motley?

I have 3 males (hypo motley, candy cane poss motley, tessera het amel) and 4 females (candy cane poss motley, honey, butter motley, coral snow) at the moment and I can't get enough of them!

Like MK said corns are really easy to care for. You can house them in tubs, tanks or pvc enclosures. Ambient humidity of 40-60% should be fine. Ambient temps in the low-mid 70's are fine for the cool side. I give my colubrids a warm spot of 84-86 all year. I use shredded aspen or the aspen sani-chips for substrate. I like the sani-chips most. I've also used the Munson feeding plan. It's a little conservative IMO but my animals grew consistently, just slowly. I prefer to feed mine 10-15% of their body weight every 5 days until they turn one. After they turn one I feed them a little bit less food and they eat every 7 days. Best wishes.

Thank you for providing me with great advice! I believe he or she isn't more than a month old now. Tiny little thing and very sweet. We haven't gotten him yet but I plan to get him once I have tracks for once of my Boamaster enclosures and can put my baby boa in that enclosure and put the motley in her old enclosure which is a 20 gallon tank.

A one month old corn snake in a 20 gallon tank doesn't sound like the best idea, even cluttered up, a 20 gal is what most sub adult or smaller adult corns live in. I would look into just grabbing a 15qt tub or 5 gallon tank to put it in until its closer to 30-40 grams or so before moving it into the 20 gal. Chances are it has only had a small number of meals, and moving into such a large enclosure can be quite stressful for a very small snake.
