It doesn't hurt to try and rule this one out, though. At the very least, it would be helpful to see what the OP means by skin collapsing around the spine.

Is his body triangle shaped or round? You don't happen to have a picture of his spine while he's looped on your arm, do you? Hard to explain. Like this, but with a spine closeup (http://powerman2442.tripod.com/siteb...python_1_4.jpg). I'm not entirely sure what's going on, but the more pictures the better.

Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of that today. :s I feel sorry that I keep taking him out for photos... I am sorry, Cake...
His body shape from above is round- he's round all the way to his butt. But he hasn't pooped for me yet in 2 weeks either, which hopefully is... normal.
Are these wrinkles and saggy skin on his neck and body normal pre-shed? Are they not? x__x
ETA: You can kind of see in the last photo- he is literally round all the way to his anus, and suddenly narrows at the tail tip. Kind of looks like he has a stuck poop or something. Normal/Not normal?

Yeah, don't bug him too much if you can help it.
I'm really not sure. Mine don't look like that before they shed, so I'm thinking it may be something else. The only snake I've seen look like this was a little one that just wouldn't eat for a while and was losing weight (she's ok now, don't worry, I figured it out), so that's why I'm wondering if he's too skinny. On a mostly unrelated note, how often are you feeding him?
Yes, that's normal. They save up their poop and they let it loose on the day you have zero time to clean.

He's eaten for me every 6 days- I just got him 2 weeks ago and he's eaten twice so far. <__> This saggy skin is gradually worrying me more and more, seeing as it's got everyone confused...
LOL. I will be prepared for that, yet also thankful it's out.

It's great that he's eating for you already! I was mostly curious about that one. I honestly wouldn't worry about the skin yet if he's not acting lethargic. Hopefully some other people will chime in with more information. I'll do some research about this one and let you know if I find something.
It's interesting. Even more fun when you have multiple ball pythons and they give you synchronized poop. Mine did that today. I think I cleaned out five or six tubs from snakes that haven't made a mess in weeks...

Thanks for the feedback! Still hoping this is totally normal... If this little guy has something wrong with him, I might get a heart attack. x_x And thanks- please let me know if you've found anything!
Hahah.. Well, I have two BP's right now, so I'll be waiting for the day of synchronized pooping.
