She looks like a very browned out pastel. You just struck out on the pastel hatchlings.

    Re: Pastel?

    Hi All,

I return again with more info. My "pastel"(??) girl laid six eggs from a pairing to a black pewter. They hatched this week. One was unfortunately very kinked (I know I had temp issues at the very beginning otherwise it was all solid) and died as soon as he/she started breathing air. I think the two major kinks behind his/her head were not supportive of life. Of the rest, five were fine. Here is a picture of the live clutch and also the one who died (for reference). So... what did I get? I've been told the very light one is a super pastel black pastel (aka silver streak) but I would like additional opinions. First picture with no flash, then flash, then deformed hatchling, then sire.

    Re: Pastel?

The thing that throws me if the lightest one is not a silver streak, is that the kinked one also had a very light head, but much darker body than the super light one. I would think that made the kinked one a black pewter and the very light one something more... is that the right way to look at it? Without the kinked one, I would think that I likely just got a very very blushed out black pewter with the super light one, since I didn't get any other super pastel types.

I am by no means an expert.

But to me I see two pastels, a normal, a ridiculously nice black pastel and an amazing black pewter.

For me , the black pastel (snake in the middle with head to left bottom corner) is really light and blushed out so i see how the black pewter is so faded.

Lets wait to hear what the more experienced guys say though.

    Congrats on a great clutch!!

I also see two pastels, a normal, a black pastel and a pewter. Nice hatchlings! Sorry about the kinked guy.

These were my guesses as well.

    Congrats! That pewter is smoking.
