As you mentioned in your example, the only way to guarantee the genetics in a BEL are if you did that specific pairing with supers. If the snake had a wobble, I'd say it's safe to call it a spider.
I took a picture of one of my Lesser Special BELs that may contain Pastel or Enchi, and simply turned up the saturation, and turned down the brightness. You can see all the yellow banding. My other Lesser Special did not have this patterning.
