Egg Incubation

I have 8 eggs in my incubator and I check temps 2xdaily and I have been burping the container 1x a week. Thus being said the eggs still have veins and have not changed at all since I put them in. The question I have is they have been in for approx. 44 days. Is there a time when I should keep the lid off, or burp once a day? This is my first clutch and needless to say a little nervous. Just want to make sure I do everything I should for the best shot at hatching? Some suggestions would be helpful.

Basically when incubating you put the eggs in the incubator and forget about them.

I only open egg tubs starting one week prior to hatching date and only do so every other day, there is no need to mess with the eggs any more then that.

OK That being said would I have hurt anything doing that, and what do you think the hatch date would be if the lay date was approx. 4/15? When I check the temps every day I mean in the bator not the egg box.

By doing so the risk you are taking is to let humidity out and have your eggs collapse too soon, which is why they should be mess with as little as possible.

That depends on your temps usually the majority of people incubate at temps that allow the hatchlings to pip between 55 & 60 days on average.
