Thank you so much!!! I was just following the box instructions but I'll fix it all up. When I get the new enclosure what should I get? And will he need another one after that? And also when will I know he needs a new one? (Newtohavingsnakessorry)

You have the wrong clips, Zilla and Petco carry heavy duty versions of these. I'll post a picture of the proper ones in my gallery (for some reason I've been unable of late to post pictures directly). Amazon carries the ones I'm talking about. Zilla lists them as heavy duty screen clips. They are much wider almost 2 1/2 inches long. Never had a problem with them.

Those clips will work, but you have them upside down. The rounded part goes to the top. The clip should latch over to the screen and securely hold to the sold top side.

Clip is oriented correctly, you just don't have it attached right. Push the top forward(towards the screen) until it locks in between the screen and metal frame of the lid. Once you get it in there it stays well enough on it's own. You unlatch by pulling down on the part that's between the glass and plastic frame of the aquarium.

You're right - there is something off about that clip...
