Got a soldering iron & already have the ventilation holes put in. I have to wait for him to digest his latest meal before I take the UTH from his tank & put it on this. I also have some black spray paint to black out 3 sides.
It's a 60qt & I'm going to clutter it up (like his tank) so he feels more secure.
Please don't forget to put the uth on a thermostat. Very nice tub.

Looks nice, the one suggestion I would make is to tape off the areas you want to paint then take some super fine sand paper to it and rough up the tub. I use a tub with a lid for a quarantine tank and I did the same thing with spray painting it black on the sides and didn't scour the plastic first and as a result it flakes right off if you even look at it wrong.

I got some spray paint specifically for plastic, hopefully it'll work th way it says

Unfortunately not, still trying to figure out how to get th hot side flat. I didn't notice the gridded bottom until I was putting on th bottle cap feet. Don't want to use the soldering iron to flatten it out

I would use heat tape. UTH are way overpriced. Heat tape would cost about $5 maybe? Depends on length and width you get. The heat pad thing I am unsure about. Don't see how it would even be close to properly regulated without a thermostat. I would stay away from it myself.
