Agreed, more likely someone saw one eating road kill and just assumed the lizard did it.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

Never argue with idiots. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with their experience.

As much as I like cats, and think kittens are adorable... if these guys ate feral kittens they might actually do some good for the environment.

No surprise that they're more concerned about monitors eating native wildlife and not feral cats.

Of course, but my point is that they're the immediate next target. There certainly will be a monitor and tegu ban long before a cat ban. Hell, we might see it crop up as soon as this year, next year, or the following year at this rate unless the lawsuit proves anything.

Oh, did we write unconfirmed? Uh... *in whispers in huddle between article authors* Damnit! We must have someone on the inside trying to unstabilize our deep personal loathing for reptiles turned into fictitious, vicious articles without us just coming out and saying we hate them -- and they're doing it with facts! This isn't how biased info works! *to every reptile lover who easily points out the flaws* No, no... See, we wrote this on April 1st, and JERRY, here thought it'd be a funny joke, to put completely false information into a 100% factual article... *trails off* "But... It's March 31st..." WELL GUESS WHAT, IT'S CALLED PLANNING AHEAD, THE KEY TO EVERY SUCCESS! AND IF YOU CAN'T SEE THAT, YOU'RE OBVIOUSLY A BIG DOODOOHEAD WHO DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT REPTILES!" *runs off aggressively*

I had a Nile Monitor miss the guy. You know what the most destructive introduced animal to America is not the Nile Monitor or any snakes its the house cat. So if you ask me the Nile Monitors are doing us a favor by eating the hair balls. I know that sounds mean to say but i am just so tired of the double standard that cats get. I do not think people understand the amount of destruction cats did to the Americas when we brought them here with us.

I've seen a lot of these articles and a lot of the campaign websites to stop the addition of more species and the possible removal of others. From what I've read, the Lacey Act is controlled by a bunch of [jerks] that were rejected as children and were so [upset] about not being allowed a pet in their childhood that they're taking it out on the reptile hobby.

You guys should come over here to the UK, your reptiles won't get banned here.

Someone hasn't been keeping abreast of the new EU rules proposed to prevent invasive species.

It's Europe wide! so if the animals can survive in Greece etc they could be banned in Britain.
