    Rat breeding update

It's been away since I did a update on my rodents, I made a quick video to give the fuzzy ones a little love ;-)

Feel free to post some videos as well, I always enjoy seeing videos and cute rats.

Nice video and nice setup. I'm hoping to build or buy my first rat rack this year.. I will be starting to breed rats this summer.

Thanks a lot for the kind words. Breeding rats is a lot of fun! Once you have a nice setup and find some local suppliers it's really not that difficult :-)

I have 5 racks that I use depending on how many ball pythons I have and expected clutches coming up.

Building the racks is really not that difficult. Most places like Home Depot can cut the wood for you which saves a lot of time! Attaching the hardware cloth takes a little bit of time but nothing to difficult.

Best of luck and let me know how things go!

    Thanks!
I've kept rats for close to 2 years now (as pets) but have had issues finding good breeding stock. I've finally gotten some good animals from a breeder in SC, so I'm hoping I'll be able to produce rats with good temperaments. I probably won't be breeding enough to fully supply my snakes at this point, but it should be a fun project to work with.

Thanks for the tip on getting them to cut the wood. I will likely do that or get my husband to borrow some of his fathers wood tools to do so.
