My snake gets plain old tap water, and her bowl gets cleaned every few days to a week. If I had a humidifier, I would use distilled water, only because if you don't it voids the warranty, but since I do it by hand, I use regular tap water for humidity as well.

I give mine both for drinking/bathing and misting for humidity purified water because I have plenty and store it in the fridge.
I have to agree with these two. Totally depends on where you live. I can't stand the taste of our tap water. If you fill a gallon jug of our tap water the smell is just gross. We buy gallons of distilled water and I want to start giving it to the snakes too just because it's hard for me to even swallow our tap lol.

Distilled water is bad for your bad snakes. It lacks the minerals, salts, and other extras they need.

It is okay to use pine bedding for snakes.
It is okay to feed live food to snakes.

I have a chlorine filter, brings the ppm from 580 to 90. I didn't buy the r/o filter this time so it's 1 step below it. That's what my family drinks + all the pets in our house.

But tap is fine. If the city your in deems your municipal water safe to drink, then it's safe for your snakes.

The only thing I would worry is if you had well water with poor or no filtration.

I use tap water from my dads house. My city tap water lately has been really hard and it makes the bowls harder to clean and they need to be done more often if I use city water.

I don't think you can make a blanket statement, water quality varies greatly, this same argument exists with bottled water. It is better for you if the tap water is of a poor quality. All things equil it is a waste of money but if you get sick from drinking the tap water it is super cheap. There are water borne things you don't want to get. Giardia for example, in the town where my dad lives they had it in the water supply, I would pay 10$ a bottle for water, not to get it again!

My snake gets the same as me - tap water through a Brita filter.
