Perfectly normal. First twenty something years I was keeping herps they were all strictly pets. Would occasionally get offspring in communal setups but other than that it was simply the joy of keeping and interacting with each individual animal. I got into breeding because I wanted something and could only afford the ingredients. After those first eggs pipped I was pretty much hooked.
