I worked at a family owned pet store chain as a teenager. I loved the job for the most part. I took care of the birds, reptiles and spiders mainly as well as the "small animals" as they are called - rodents.
I once had a Chilean Rose Haired Tarantula out of it's tank for cleaning. I did not realize I was being watched by a customer at the moment.
So I coax the large spider onto my bare hand and bring it out. I'm kind of inspecting her and glad she didn't bite me (I had one of the very same spiders as a pet and this variety is very docile and not known as aggressive) when I hear a woman scream. I turn around and she's screaming at the top of her lungs from 10 feet away demanding I put it back. I kind of gave her a sideways look like "why?" and she ran straight out the front door, still screaming.
To this day it cracks me up.
Lol! My manager was retrieving Australian Whites for a customer and had them stick to her hand while she walked across the store to get boxes and two ladies saw them and did the exact same thing!
