    Not to be too blunt, but why are you trying to breed if you're new to BPs? Doesn't sounds like a thought out plan to me and it sounds like your friend is just trying to unload a project he doesn't want on you.

    I'm planning on breeding in a year or two, not right away. I've bred carpets and corns, never BP's. Also you're partially right. He's unloading projects he's completed
