Question Help with a morph ID of rescues

    Hey all

The store I help out at had a few rescue ball pythons brought to the store after they were dumped in a local mall in nothing but pillowcases to contain them. ( I have strong words for anyone who would do that in the middle of a Canadian winter but that's not suited to this topic.

One of them is clearly normal, and so I didn't take a picture of it. All of the snakes have been grossly ill treated and are in pretty bad shape. It infuriates me that there are people who would do that Anyhow to the morphs.

I wasn't able to get any pictures beyond this one for this snake for now. Whoever owned these snakes before must have had them in either pretty bad conditions, or on a UTH without the thermostat. S/he has pretty bad burns on her/his stomach. I will likely be able to get better pictures next time I go in.

I'm 99.9% sure this is a Axanthic, albeit an extremely malnourished one.I was more hoping that there would be a way to distinguish between VPI, TSK and Jolliff. S/he has no stomach burns, but it's still very touchy so I'm working on socializing it, and while I realize that snakes don't have the function to discern, I'm hoping to teach it that not all humans are as neglectful.

Thanks for the help in this area

Another vote for normals. I hope they recover quickly from their burns.

Both look normal to me, I have seen normal grey out as they aged but only due to malnourishment.

I hope they get to doing better! I hate most people most of the time because they seemingly don't know how to respect and love animals...

Oh I know. I'm keeping one hell of an eye on them. There were originally 5 but two of them passed away shortly after they were brought in, and I don't want to lose any more of them. The one of them had an RI, and looked like a deflated bag. You couldn't even see it's spine anymore because it looked like just a flat snake with no structure. I honestly want to find the person who did this and give them a good smack. Or a good talking to, depending on how my rhetoric for the day is.

And everyone thanks for the help. I'll see if the second one browns out as we get him nutrition and try to heal him up.
