i'm new to the whole posting videos thing, so it may take me a few tries. Apologies in advance, but it should be good to go.

I tried two times to trim some of the downtime out of the video...but I can't figure out youtube's editing interface.
I could be crazy, but at the 19:50 mark, as he is turning back around, it appears that he is struggling with some substrate that is caught in his mouth/jaw (I think you can see a piece of it sticking out of one side). He appears to be rubbing against the hide in an attempt to dislodge it. I wonder he wouldn't benefit from a larger substrate...like cypress mulch. I use cypress in my tank, and I have never noticed a problem with it sticking to the prey item and/or getting caught in my snakes mouth. Just a thought, based on my observation of the video.

Those are 7.5g "small mice." and he gets two to three of them depending on their size variance. Too small?

Yellowbelly: he has had a couple random pieces stuck like that but rarely. However I do plan to change him to something else once I use up the bedding I already bought. Its a mix of aspen and coco. Might just go straight coco but i'm worried about too small causing an impaction with ingestion, or choking if its too big. Once I get the T8 I want I'll probably do away with substrate completely and just go the paper towel route since the humidity won't be such a problem.

Does anyone know how the cypress compares to the aspen for humidity retention? Could I still use 50% coco, or would I not have to because it holds humidity better?

General Update: In case anyone here is still following his progress or would just like to know, He now weighs in at around 138g, his humidity has been rectified with the fogger to fluctuate in the high 50's to mid 60's, but I can turn it up during sheds. His skin turgor has significantly improved as has his overall appearance, he seems more filled out and sturdy. He is eating regularly now and is active. He hasn't had a shed since the humidity fix so I haven't been able to compare yet but I am optimistic, as his flakes and eye caps are gone.

So overall he is noticeably healthier than when I purchased him. I still plan on getting him a nicer home and I won't say everything is perfect yet but I wanted to let everyone who has followed him here know that things are looking up. Thank you all for your help and concern.

Re: New owner and site member, BP Dehydrated from store.

I got a new phone but it's still such a pain to post from it, especially for the quality. and for some reason they always show up huge. I'll try to upload the new ones. I want to set up the cheap little pvc/cloth photo booth i've seen on here to take some nice ones but I need a real camera first.

I use cypress with my fogger and it is perfect, although the top is covered to prevent too much air evaporation and subsequent wet bedding.

Grats with the little guy! I may have missed but has he/she been sexed yet?

Glad all is going well, been following since beginning!

Also, the image uploader from mobile always says the picture is too big. At the top of the page it states big images will automatically be re-sized but it never does, so I tend to not be able to upload from my phone. Hopefully I can get a camera soon.

No I haven't had him sexed yet as I haven't been to the vet for him yet. We don't have any reptile specialists in the area. I plan to take him in as soon as I can find one. As for now, I'm just using the universal "He." Also I'd prefer him to be male so i'm just being optimistic.
