Feeding time?
hey y'all.
As you may or may not know, I have a ball python named Mangle I had for 10 days. I handled her after having her for about a week and she loves to snuggle. She is doing quite well in her 50 gallon tank. I am wondering, when should I feed her? Should I feed her today? How do I know she's ready?
I believe Mangle is about 2 or 3 years old based on her size. I do not know when she was last fed, but I think she may be ready. I am not sure. All advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
Dylan (Mads)

If u haven't feed her since u got her or if it's been between 5-7 days I would say go for it, but don't handle her very much for today and tomorrow until u know how she reacts to everything. That it's just my suggestion.

Yes, if you are ready, go ahead and make the attempt.

Re: Feeding time?
I'll try. Should I defrost the mouse in a plastic bag with hot water?
I know not to microwave the mouse.
Should I put her in another cage for it?
Should I use a snake hook?
Any other tips? thanks.

I personally don't use a plastic bag just so I know that my bp is getting a least some water in he. Some well say to use a hair dryer but I don't. It work out for me. Putting her in another cage is up to u. That it's an open subject some say no some say yes. Personally I do so none of the substrate gets ingested for that reason only. There it's no need for a snake hook but tongs are recommended so the snake doesn't get ur hand instead.

Re: Feeding time?
She is in another cage. I just thawed a mouse and put it in the other cage. She is crawling around and bumping the sides of her "feeding cage" She's been in there for about 10 minutes. What should I do?

Have u put the mouse in? How did u put it in. I dangle mine with the tangs. How long did u leave the mouse in the hot water? Mine bumps on the side to. I dethaw first then 10 mins later I get her out. Then dangle the mouse. Make sure it's hot enough.

If she doesn't eat this time don't sweat it she will be ok until next week or so.

Also if u want just put both back in the main cage. If she is hungry she will eat. If not like I said she will be fine. If u do put back in the main cage give it a couple hrs.
