I know I'm late to the party, but this is the one I got for my snake room 2 years ago that I would recommend to anyone - Lasko 1128. It can be had for $75 shipped (if you're a Prime member) right now on Amazon.

Maybe, but it looks nice, and if you're happy with it then that's all that matters. Give us an update on it later... How large is your snake room?

Not large at all. Not sure of the exact dimensions. It's just very very dry. I planned to buy the small Vicks humidifier and when I got to walmart I seen this one. Figured if it doesn't solve my problem nothing will.

ah... I was asking because it said whole house humidifier. Our current snake room is about 11' x 12', but our bid on a new house was accepted a couple days ago, and the "snake room" in it is at least twice that size. If the Vicks doesn't do the trick, I will have to get something a little bigger. I need to get a back up heater too, before they stop selling them everywhere...

Don't move to the Midwest. Very unpredictable weather. 12 degrees right now.
