This is terrible advice if you ask me. Thinking you can have a venomous snake and not ever have to physically handle it is a very flawed logic and should not be recommended.

I don't think the snake would benefit from an extra large enclosure either.

hey it's negative Nancy, do you just stalk my posts hoping I misspell something so you can chime in?

I just ment it sounds big enough to almost get in and a hook wouldn't get caught up in big enclosure

As that is the tank size you need for one in Austria, I'm picking it up next month at a reptile expo (adult) I've spocken to the breeder And he thought that the set up was fine ! Actually I just remembered that a hognose is a rear fanged venomous snake (correct me if I'm wrong) haha so yea i might get a venomous snake but in a much smaller enclosure love the hognoses

I'd say a live rock reef tank.

I was just watching a YouTube video on how hard it is for a hognose to actually use those little back fangs and the toxin is less reactive the a bee sting although you can be allergic to hognose venom also. They are less for this strike and more barbs to push food into the mouth. They are kinda cute if snakes can be cute.

I'm confused about your laws, each breed/species is assigned a cage size? I don't have a brb but I think they need high humidity (sometime hard to achieve in a large tank) and I know if I had to have a 170 gallons for one I could never have one sence that's the size of a city apartment. That would kill the trade here

Hold on a sec here, something about the original numbers given does not compute. I though it looked funny, so I went and found an online conversion calculator. Op gave a volume measurement in gallons, but linear measurements in cm. The numbers he gave dont match. If the linear measurements are close this is only about a 90gal tank at most. So before anyone makes too many more recommendations, OP can we please get some confirmation on the size of the tank? Or was the volume supposed to be in liters?
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

Never argue with idiots. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with their experience.
