Yikes! Were those places healed/mostly healed and then got re-opened by the shed, or has it looked like that the whole time?

Seconding. Is the vet you are currently seeing a reptile specialist or a general practitioner?

Ok. Unfortunately wounds can re-open when the scabs get pulled off during shed.

Your vet should be able to give you the silvadene (silver sulfadiazine), iodine/betadine should be available at a drug store.
