Fun Question: What would you breed?

Hi guys so I'll jump right to it.
I have a male, Ghost Lesser Black Pewter. He's a stunner! If you could pick any combo of morphs to breed him to in order to create the most profitable clutches, what would it be? I am looking to buy ONE female and sell the babies wholesale to help me get through med school. I do not want to create a massive breeding project, I just want to have two gorgeous pets who can help with my bills by making sweet love.

I was at the Hamburg Reptile Expo earlier today and asked around, but I'm interested in hearing from a broader spectrum of breeders and connoisseurs.
Remember: one female. any morphs at all.

    Thanks!

Firefly hypo and enchi hypo. One boy can knock up two females a year, or you could breed each female on alternate years.

Yes, I'd like to buy your money tree. [short pause] Wait... what? It doesn't? Since when?

I doubt you will pay many Bills from 1 clutch of eggs you plan to wholesale.

get a part time job if you need to make Bill money.

Eric I work 40+ hours a week and go to college full time in the evenings. But thank you for your concern about my fiscal motivation... I am not merely seeking to turn a profit, but it's a valid question to see what morphs people can see becoming prevalent in the future. I would not breed once, but purchase a female to be his mate.

I'm actually not concerned at all about your financial motivation, which was your original post's sole focus. I don't have any money on the line, so what do I care? I am simply saying that even turning a slim profit by the time you finish med school by attempting to breed two ball pythons will be a monumental task (I should say impossible, but as the cliche goes...).

Unless you have access to free caging, husbandry and incubation supplies, an endless supply of free rats, don't have to actually pay for your animals, and don't put a value on the time you spend caring for them, all of these things will cost you not inconsequential amounts of money both up front and ongoing as you own your snakes. Then there's the Mother Nature aspect of this hobby in that your animals may not actually produce a clutch at all! If they do, that clutch may not be as large as you hope, may have incubation or development issues, or you may flat out fizzle on the odds and not product the animals that are the most desirable. Once you do produce babies, what if they don't sell (there will be costs involved with their care now too!)? Even if you're successful one year, that doesn't mean that you'll be successful the next. Once you account for all of these things, and that's not even thinking about any vet bills should they need to be paid, showing any sort of profit would be Herculean.

The other thought running through my mind is that you're going to med school. Last time I checked that's not exactly something that leaves you with a lot of free time. It's not impossible to have a hobby while going to school and working full time, and your motivation to be successful isn't the only limiting factor as I said above, but it is certainly something that must be considered in all of this.

Typically, even with the best laid plans, about the best you can hope for is to turn a profit by the third year - many will say that it takes longer, but there are a few lucky members on here that have done so by then (and they're not med students breeding two snakes together).

While I do wish you luck in your quest, I'm not going to provide you with a pair of rose colored glasses to look through. I always advocate owning ball pythons that make you happy to look at every single time you open their tub (which more often than not will be to clean up after a mess they made). If you can do that, then this may be the right hobby for you. If not, you'll quickly learn that the quickest way to make a small fortune breeding ball pythons is to start with a large one.

    Best regards,
    Eric

Seeing as you have already seen how bad your first post looks and sounds................ I hope you already have an outlet in mind. Selling high end and wholesale usually don't go hand in hand.

Questions are: How much are you wanting to spend? How many can you house? What morphs do you like?

Don't forget you will blow a season with QT and don't plan on her going the first try for you either.

No longer requesting input. I asked a simple question, "what morph would you breed to my snake" the housing and other concerns are not ones of yours. I was asking personal opinion about genetics, not for a lecture. I know what it entails and I thought a light-hearted question would be received with some creative responses. I certainly was wrong. Apologies. Next time I'll be sure to state that I'm not a complete moron and include 3 personal references before asking something..
