    What's in there?

Found this lovely boy at a nearby pet stored for a really great price! He was advertised as a Lemon Blast Lesser, but it doesn't see right to me. Thoughts?

Looks like a pastel to me. Doesn't have the pinstripe pattern or the lesser fading up the sides that I can see. This is what a "Lemon Blast Lesser" (or Kingpin Pastel) looks like:

Edited to add: Pretty snake either way, but you should definitely say something to that pet shop about mislabeling their snakes / false advertising... especially if they're charging more because of it.

There's definitely no pinstripe in there, we figured that out at the store. There does appear to be fading in there, if somewhat muted. The picture isn't doing him justice, but I just couldn't get him to sit still in the right lighting.

The fading/flames that I can see look normal for pastels (both of mine have 'em). Trying to take pictures of wiggly snakes is a major pain in the butt!

Honestly, I don't think they knew what he was, only what they were told. As previously stated, it was a great price!

Also, he is extremely docile and very active. And, as of 30 minutes ago, a good shedder. Didn't even see that one coming, he's only been here 9 days.

That's good! It sounds like you picked up a nice, healthy snake.

All I see is a pastel and nothing more, I doubt it was as great of a price as you hope for. Sorry

Yeah, agreed, just looks like a pastel. And a decent price for a male pastel is about 50-75 bucks.

Either way, he's a pretty guy and you seem happy with him. At that point that's the important thing, unless you had some major breeding plan. Enjoy him.
