Good Morph To Invest In

IMO, you need a ton of good females to pair up in the future with 1 powerhouse male. The Bamboo project is VERY promising, and would be worth it. If you really want to find "investment" quality BPs, you want to get into the Bamboo, Scaleless, or Highways/Freeways. The GHI train is coming down pretty hard.

Bananas are a decent investment in my opinion. I think they're as big as pieds. The combos sell well (and look amazing), they are one of the most appealing BPs on the market, and they're attainable by many more people who can afford a >$1000 snake than a $10k snake . The only drawback is the sex-linked issue where males will almost always produce other males. Typically, when you buy a male investment quality snake, you're trying to breed him to produce his replacement... So it kindof works out lol.

Edit: I know this was mentioned, but reptiles aren't a very good investment for a hobby breeder. They do what they want, when they want to, and with who they want to...... It's not clockwork lol.

If you buy animals that you genuinely enjoy, you forget about how much money you spent, and you enjoy raising that animal. Also, I think I talked myself into buying a banana............ Ugh! That itch!

I would love to invest in Bamboo. It seems like this morph is starting to take off. I know that feeling. When you talk about Ball Pythons, you suddenly want another one! I also think Bananas are going to stay in popularity for a long time like piebalds, so they would be a good investment like you mentioned. How about Sparks and Pumas or Specters? They seem like a good investment, too.

Superstripes are still pretty popular. They don't seem to last when I see their ads posted. Unfortunately sparks and specters can be tricky to identify, so I wouldn't recommend them for a starting breeder unless you've seen quite a few specters/YBs in person and feel confident you could distinguish them from normals. Or any other specter/YB combos for that matter.

I'm personally not a fan of Pumas so I haven't really been following the market for them. Most of my interest has been on highways/freeways than any other YB complex. If I were to add a snake to my collection, it would have YB and banana, maybe a pos het clown or pied. Then in a few years when she's on her way to reaching breeding weight, I'd "invest" in a gravel male, or freeway/highway, or a super gravel. Since I can't afford any of those at the moment, I'm going to stick with what I've got .

That's the only problem I have with yellowbelly morphs. I don't really have experience identifying them. I've been looking online for a gravel and I can't find a single one. Do you know where to find them?

All the gravel's ive seen are going for 3-4k

Yeah, I was just at the Daytona show, and I was surprised that the Gravels were still 3-4K I did not think they were still that high...

I would personally use "invest" carefully. We all know the prices of these will ALL fall. I just do it as a hobby, that sometimes, I can get some money back on .
this way I'm not too disappointed when the hets I paid $1000 for way back when, only produce $400-$500 snakes now..... (heck I remember paying $250 for a Possible het pied that I STILL have not been able to prove out! She just has not laid for me)
